Stunning neon ruby core with a light pink rim in the glass, the 2017 Treehouse Vineyard Pinot Noir from Kosta Brown is wonderfully expressive on the nose with aromas of red rose, dried violet, crushed blackberry, spiced wild huckleberry, ground white pepper, a hint of scorched earth finishing off with a dusting of mocha powder. It’s aged in 45% new French oak & 7% new Austrian oak for 22 months. Delivering a deep rich core of fruit on the nose, the palate is a bit leaner in nature and took some time to open up. But once it did, it really moved along nicely. High levels of acidity and crunchy tannins complete the wine, and it still needs a few years in the bottle to settle down. Best in 2024. Highly recommended.
