This Chardonnay is sourced from old Wente clones (on AXR-1 rootstock) in the esteemed Ritchie Vineyard. It instantly begins to impress with its deep golden color, followed by a complex aromatic profile of tropical fruits, ripe pineapple, smoke, salty almond, vanilla blossom and honeysuckle all taking shape. On the palate this full-bodied and richly textured, with intense concentration and layers of complex flavors adding in a spices and crème brûlée, which continue to persist through the unctuous finish. While this does show the potential to age, this modern style Chardonnay is absolutely delicious now. 241 Cases produced in 2015.
