The 2013 Tierra Roja Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous effort from Linda Neal and her winemaking team. This seductive wine opens to aromas of ripe blackberries and sweet cassis, which are woven together with sweet spices, fresh spring florals, chocolate and sweet pipe tobacco all coming together and soaring from the glass. Full-bodied, well structured and beautifully layered with remarkable overall balance and finesse. The finish is beautifully polished with dark fruits and sweet spices lingering on. This is simply outstanding today, but ultimately will be at its best with a few more years of bottle age. Only 220 cases made. (Best 2019-2030) - October, 2016 (JD)
