The 2016 Favia Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from select blocks at Oakville Ranch, high above the valley floor in the eastern hills of Oakville, with vines planted to red, iron rich soils. The result is a simply gorgeous Cabernet that offers seductive aromatics of black cherries and dark currants which are woven together with spices, spring florals, graphite, loamy minerals, fresh tobacco and hints of licorice. This is full-bodied and concentrated, with beautifully polished tannins and a juicy core of dark fruits that envelope the palate leading up to the incredibly long finish. This is a drop dead stunning wine from Andy Erickson and Annie Favia that is already exceedingly delicious now, but also has the potential to age gracefully for two or three decades.
