This Pinot Noir from Sandhi is a stunning wine which comes from the steep, south facing, breezy hillsides of the Mt. Carmel Vineyard. The 2013 instantly bursts open with gorgeous, high-pitched aromas of pomegranate, cranberries and strawberries which are woven together with crushed floral, exotic spices, minerals and a mix of potpourri like nuances. This is even more impressive for its amazing structure, which is tightly wound around silky tannins and backed by a core of racy acidity. It remains beautifully balanced and focused through the elegant finish. This was just bottled a few weeks prior to this tasting and it is already showing so many lovely characteristics.
