The vineyard, which get its name from the date it was planted on “Blooms Day”. The vines here are planted to alternating rows of Swan, Mount Eden and Calera selections. The 2012 is such an impressive showing with explosive aromas, which burst from the glass in layers of wild strawberry, black cherry, red currant, raspberry, crushed almond, shaved coconut, dark soil, hints of grapefruit, herbs, violets and rose pedal. It is so pure, focused and balanced with gorgeous acidity ending in a lively mineral driven finish. This is already has so much, however it is sure to age gracefully as well. A tremendous effort from Raj Parr, Sashi Moorman and the rest of DDLC team. (Best 2014-2026) - March, 2014 (MD)
