The Alfredo Maestro Castrillo de Duero is a single vineyard Tempranillo from 70-year-old vines. The 2010 brings aromas of sour cherry, blackberry, black currant, smoke, graphite, leather and loam which leap from the glass. The fruit is pure, ripe, and succulent with a lip smacking finish. There is great structure that tells me this wine develop over the next few years. Aged for 12 months in used French oak. (Best 2015-2025) - July, 2013 (MD)
