The 2014 'Villa de Corullon' is a superb showing from Bodega Palacios. Sourced 50-100 year-old Mencia vines from the municipality of Corullon, just south of San Martin, this incredible wine shows a fantastic aromatic range, with white pepper, vegetal tones, black tea, black currant purée and exotic spices that all are marvelously woven together in the glass. Beautifully textured, this shows off a soft and inviting mouthfeel marked by flavors of black tea, wild blackberry preserves with suggestions of pipe tobacco and leather all come together on the palate. Incredibly njoyable in its youth, this outstanding wine will cellar well for the next fifteen years.
