This comes from vines aged 15-25 from 85% Rioja Alta. This saw 12 months in 60% French oak with 40% American oak. Both barreling was split between new and neutral oak. This opens with crisp and clean aromatics of red raspberry, red cherry anise and lavender. Lithe and busting with flavor on the mouthfeel, leading to fruit forward flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, mushroom and thyme. This is a delicious entry level Rioja that’s at a great price point to buy by the case. (Best 2015-2020) - August 2015, (OB)
