The 2014 'Moonlight Race' Pinot Noir from Burn Cottage. This Pinot Noir incorporates a blend of sites: fruit produced on their own biodynamic farmed estate vineyard, along with 2 other vineyards in the Central Otago region. The wine spent 12 months in French Oak and was bottled unfiltered and offers gorgeous aromas of cherries and wild berries woven together with spices, floral with hints of blood orange and rosemary. On the palate this is beautifully textured with a round, silky mouthfeel and excellent overall balance and precision all the way through the spicy finish. This is a complete success from Burn Cottage and certinaly a winery to keep an eye on. (Best 2016-2027) - December, 2016 (JD)
