The 2018 Chiaramonte Nero d'Avola is another excellent release. This Nero d'Avola is sourced from the Dàgala Borromeo Estate in the Trapani countryside where the vineyards have south/south-westerly exposure and are situated 750 feet above sea level. As far as the wine itself, it begins with inviting aromas of blackberries, plums, citrus peel, earth, pepper, spices, minerals and herbs which all take shape. The Medium body is well-balanced and structured with silky tannins which frame the flavors of plums and earthy notes that leave a lasting impression. This is a lovely Nero d'Avola which should offer a drinking window that spans nearly a decade.
