The 2012 Argiano ‘Suolo’ is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso which comes from mix of both old and young vines from the vineyard Vignoni; the oldest vineyard at Argiano, and from Oliviera, one of Argiano’s younger vineyards. As the wine begins to open, it delivers aromas of blackberries and cherries woven together with espresso, spices, vanilla and lightly toasted oak. On the palate this is full and velvety with a core of dark fruits and spices that carry over onto the finish. This becomes much more expressive after extended air contact, but will be better in a few years. (Best 2017-2026) - October, 2015 (JD)
