MASSIMAGO Amarone della Valpolicella 2010

The 2010 Massimago Amarone della Valpolicella is a blend of 70% Corvina, 15% Corvinone and Rondinella from 50-year-old vines planted to marly limestone and clay soils. The wine itself is dark and brooding and constantly evolves with each second in the glass. This Amarone is layered with a ton of dark fruits, exotic spices, chili powder, chocolate and licorice, which are just some of the nuances that this offers. It possesses a gorgeous round, voluptuous texture, with impressive power and intensity from start to the massive finish. There is so much to like here and this should have no issues holding up for well over a decade. (Best 2015-2029) - June, 2014 (JD)
