The 2007 is composed primarily of Nero d’Avola along with a small percentage of other varieties. This full-bodied red delivers gorgeous aromas of freshly crushed blackberries and cassis followed by spices, leather, black licorice and hints of tobacco. It demonstrates a wonderful firm structure, that is beautifully balanced and driven by underlying acidity which keeps it fresh and inviting. The finish is long and persistent, gripping hold and leaving behind sweet black fruits and raisins. Although this already has a few years of age, it is still a youngster and will require attritional time to fully develop. (Best 2016-2028) - October, 2014 - (JD)
