The 2012 ’Animaversa' slowly opens to aromas of blackberries, blueberries, violets, minerals and exotic spices. It possesses a lovely texture with polished tannins and a long caressing finish. I would recommend allowing this another few years in bottle to flesh out, but in the meantime, consider the ‘Versacinto’ as an immediate option, it is much more accessible today and a far better value in 2012.
