The 2009 Pertimali (Livio Sassetti) Montecucco La Querciolina offers aromas and flavors of blackberries, candied plums, damp earth, herbs, spices, cigar box and lots of fresh earthy minerals. The medium to full body gets support from the fine grained tannins and long silky finish. Composed of 100% Sangiovese which was handpicked and fermented in stainless steel before being aged 12 months is Slovenian oak, 50% new.
