The 2018 Barbera 'Barberasso' from Castello di Cigognola begins with aromas of sweet black cherries and dark plums which are woven together with spices, cedar, licorice and wet stones all taking shape. This medium-bodied red is well balanced and offers a lovely texture with wonderful underlying acidity providing a wonderful fresh character, which continues through the round finish.
