The 2012 'I Sodi di San Niccolò' is a elegent blend of primarily Sangioveto (85%-90%) with a touch of Malvasia Nera. As this slowly unwinds it begins to release pretty aromas of blackberries, white cherries, floral and hints of fresh tobacco which all take shape beautifully in the glass. On the palate this medium-full red is well structured with fine tanninns and lovely overall balance ending with a long finish. While its elegance is already quite apparent, this still only shows signs of its true potential, and will ultimately need some additional bottle age to fully uncoil.
