The 2012 Chianti Classico from the Cecchi Family is a lovely showing. The vineyards are 250 meters above sea level, grown in Middle Dough alkaline presence with stones. It delivers bold aromas of blackberries and cherries followed by spices, cedar, dark ground coffee, violets and a touch of pinesap. It possesses a round, supple texture and continues to put on weight with air. Finishes up plush, juicy and long. 90% Sangiovese and 10% blend of local grape verities.
