The 2012 Palazzo is an outstanding showing in this vintage, as it displays its lovely old-world charm. This nuanced Brunello delivers aromatics of cherries and plums, which are woven together with walnut, spices, leather, underbrush and hints of eucalyptus. Medium to full-bodied and beautifully structured with fine, velvety tannins that glide effortlessly across your palate. However this may be most impressive for its remarkable overall balance and finesse as it heads into the silky, long finish. While this is already quite appealing at this early stage, as it constantly evolves with each minute in the glass, I also expect it to show well with a few more years of bottle age.
