The 2014 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino is a simply fabulous effort in this vintage. It begins with inviting aromas of dried cherries and wild berries which are laced with leather, dried florals, minerals with hints of eucalyptus, orange rind andspices which all develop beautifully. It goes on to impress with its medium-plus body and gorgeous silky tannins that beautifully caress the palate. Displaying outstanding balance and finesse this goes on to throughly impress all the way through the lingering finish. This is drinking remarkably well even ay this early stage and should go on to evolve nicely with some bottle age. A magical effort from Andrea Cortonesi, who has who certainly excelled in making a wonderful wine in this extremely difficult vintage.
