The 2008 Còlpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco is fantastic, with seductive aromas of freshly crushed blackberries and cherries along with spices, sandalwood, mocha, tobacco, licorice and minerals, which leap from the glass. This is so polished and silky showing excellent depth and a long chewy finish. The ’08 is a forward and somewhat of a voluptuous Sagrantino but the structure and finish that I love from the varietal are still there. I absolutely love this Sagrantino to drink now or even hold on to it for another decade. (Best 2014-2023) - January, 2014 (JD)
