The Haart family has had a presence in the vineyards of Piesport dating back to 1337. It is the oldest winegrowing family from the small village of Piesport. The vines from the Wintricher Ohligsberg vineyard are grown on blue slate and there is a strong slate presence and minerality to this excellent dry Riesling. The wine has aromas of pear, red delicious apple and slate. This leads to flavors of Gravenstein apple, cut grass, lemon/lime and lemond rind. The finish lingers. This is just a delight to drink, with racy acidity and represents a fantastic value for Mosel dry Rieslings. (Best 2015-2023) - November, 2015 (OB)
