This is an absolutely gorgeous Spätlese release from Schneider. This Riesling starts with aromas of honey, crushed rock, unripe pear and suggestions of honeydew melon. There are flavors reminiscent of Mandarin orange zest, lemon/lime, and candied pink grapefruit. The minerality and tension in the wine is outstanding. This Spatlase will have a long life in the cellar but is nearly impossible to resist right now. (Best 2016-2026) - April, 2016 (OB)
