The 2014 Bollig-Lehnert 'Piesporter Goldtröpfchen' Riesling Spätlese is an excellent effort. The Bollig family has been producing wine since the 17th Century, and house their winery on the outskirts of Trittenheim. The wine starts with aromas of Pazzaz apple, Mandarin orange blossom, and crushed wet rock. There are bright flavors of Gala apple, Meyer lemon, blood orange rind, and blue slate. The Riesling has a gorgeous range of flavors and the minerality shows through. This is just an awesome value from Bollig-Lehnert. (Best 2016-2026) - April, 2016 (OB)
