Adam’s plots in the Hofberg are spread along the hillside and are extremely steep, high in altitude, and kept perpetually cool from the air descending from the Hunsrück Mountains along the Dhron river. This greatly benefits the wine, resulting in a elegant, balanced Riesling. The 2013 Dhroner Hofberg Riesling Spätlese is simply gorgeous, offering notes of white peach, citrus zest, spicy floral, honeycomb, dried herbs, and intense minerality. On the palate this elegant Spätlese demonstrates excellent overall focus and precision with a lovely balance of sweetness, minerality and acidity through the pretty finish. A fantastic Riesling which should last the test of time. (Best 2016-2035) - December, 2015 (JD)
