The 2013 'Mineral' from Agrapart is utterly brilliant. Sourced from two prime lieux-dits with 40-year-old vines that are grown on the hard, white chalk in Avize and Cramant. This instantly impresses with its striking elegance, purity and crystalline character. It opens to wondeful aromas of lemon oil, asian pear, white flowers, white peach, minerals and a subtle hint of toast which unwind beautifully in the glass. The palate is simply gorgeous, displaying remarkable precision and finesse with a marvelous core of ripe stone fruit which is framed by a stunning combination of acidity and minerality which is in perfect balance. Overall this is an utterly thrilling Champagne from Pascal Agrapart that is sensational today, but should also have an incredible future ahead.
