The 2015 'Cuvèe des Cadettes' from Château La Nerthe is s blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre from 85-100 year old vines. It begins with an extremely aromatic profile of black cherries, fresh raspberries, cassis along with and exotic spices, forest floor and damp flowers all takking shape. On the palate this possesses a plush texture with flavors of red cherries, exotic spice, ripe strawberries, orange zest and pomegranate. The full body coupled by a wonderful elegant mouthfeel which ends exceedingly long, with big bold flavors lingering. Overall this is a fantastic showing, but patience will be rewarded, as this is ultimately an ageworthy red which will benefit with some additional cellaring before it will show its best.
