The 'La Guigasse' is another simply fascinating wine form Chapelle St. Theodoric in this vintage. This cuvèe comes from pure sand soil and where the Grenache vines range in age of from 50 to 100 years. Made in a traditional style using traditional, using whole-cluster, this opens to striking aromatics of black raspberries, plum, fresh florals, spices and earthy minerals all coming together beautifully. On the palate, this possesses lovely elegance, with a fine, silky texture and fantastic overall balance and focus. This continues to impress with sweetly ripened red berries and florals at its center, which expand through the long, pretty finish. Today, this is a bit more accessible than the 'Le Grand Pin', nonetheless a wonderful wine to cellar for many years. (Best 2020-2034) - January, 2018 (JD)
