The 2013 Reserve is a very impressive showing from Domaine de Nalys, made from a blend of predominantly Syrah (73%), with also Grenache (18%) and Mourvèdre (9%) from "La Crau" and "Le Bois Sénéchal". It delivers a wonderful mix of dark cherries and roasted plum woven together with lavender, expresso, smoked meats and a touch of black olive. On the palate it displays outstanding concentration for the vintage, with a lovely round, velvery texture and soft tannins resulting in gorgeous mouth feel which ends with a long supple finish. Excellent today, but should also evolve over the next decade. (Best 2015-2025) - September, 2015 (JD)
