The 2012 Adissat 'Vieilles Vignes' is an absolutely superb 100% Grenache from 60-80 year-old vines. It delivers gorgeous aromas of blackberries and plum along with white pepper, crushed stones fresh lavender and rosemary, which burst from the glass. This shows remarkable structure, backed by firm, yet silky tannins and a caressing finish that shows wonderful length. Overall this is a fantastic showing, but this age-worthy wine will require additional bottle age, that being said readers who show patience will certainly be rewarded with a world-class effort.
