The 2016 ‘Les Grandes Grenachieres d'Hippolyte’ is a gorgeous wine which has been composed form 95 % Grenache and 5% Various AOC permitted. The very old Grenache was planted by Hippolyte Serguier between 1880 and 1948 and is adheres to the principles of biodynamics. The wine itself opens to inviting aromas of raspberries and red berries which are woven together with garrigue, licorice, iron, blood orange, damp gravel and lavender nuances. On the palate this medium-bodied, red is round and silky with outstanding overall balance and finesse. It displays excellent focus and precision with notable length on the finish. Classy and sophisticated, this beautifully made wine will age remarkably well.
