Dense and concentrated with ripe raspberries, reduced plum, dried soil, lavender and spices. Rich and velvety showing layers of complexities. The finish takes on a chocolate covered raspberry character. The 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre come from vines 50 years old, rooted deep into the clay and limestone soils which are situated in a Mediterranean climate. This is certainly approachable early on but also looks like it can hold up nicely for the better part of a decade. (Best 2013-2019) - March, 2013 (JD)
