The 2017 Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges opens to aromas of black raspberries and wild berries, which are joined by dried spices, peppery florals, forest floor and lovely mineral character that all take shape in the glass. On the palate this possesses a sleek, medium-bodied frame, with notable balance and a mildly sappy core that expands through the finish that lingers with red berries and exotic spcies. Overall, this is a lovely Nuits-St-Georges that should begin to show its best with just another year or two of cellaring.
