The 2019 Chateau Cantelauze-Mezy Cahors 'Chateau' displays a wonderful inky color and instantly begins with aromatics of ripe black cherries and plums, which come together with spring florals, toast, exotic spices and hints of tobacco nuances all taking shape. On the palate this is full-bodied and beautifully polished with notable depth. It possesses a core or ripe dark fruits which is lifted by a lovely underlying acidity, that drives it into the finish. While this should continue to age well over the course of the next decade, it is drinking beautifully right now.
