The 'Le Village' is a blend of 17 different vineyards up and down the appellation from the Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde. These vineyards are composed of mainly granite and schist soils with vines from 5 to 50 years in age. The 2012 offers aromas of fresh raspberries and damson plum followed by smoke, leather, lavender and a touch of pepper. On the palate this is balanced, focused and remarkably fresh, backed by a core gorgeous acidity that continues on through the finish. A lovely showing that will be even better after another few years in bottle. (Best 2016-2026) - July, 2015 (JD)
