The 2011 Bourgogne Rouge comes from 60-year-old vines and the fruit is aged in old French oak for 12 months, unfined and unfiltered. It offers pretty aromas of strawberries, raspberry, cherry, saline, spice and earth. I love the purity of fruit and fantastic mouth feel that coats the palate all the way through the smooth finish. Overall, a great entry-level Bourgogne Rouge from Rene LeClerc and his son Francois. Drink it now or hold it for a few years. (Best 2016-2025) - October, 2014 (MD)
