The 2017 Grand-Puy Lacoste is an absolutely magnificent showing and a highlight from the appellation in this vintage. Composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, this opens up to gorgeous aromatics of black and red currants along with tobacco, spices, graphite, herbs and hints of earthy nuances. On the palate this medium-boded red is well-structured and beautifully balanced with lovely underlying acidity driving the wine through the finish. Overall, this is a gorgeous wine and should continue to drink beautifully as it continues to evolve over the course of the next decade and beyond.
