The 2004 Château Mouton Rothschild is a wonderful showing from this vintage will be remembered as one of the driest on ever record in Pauillac. Composed of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot this begins with inviting aromas of blackberries and cherries which are woven together with graphite, tobacco, dried spices, smoked meats and even his of mocha showing beautifully. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied with beautifully velvety tannins that provide excellent support. It goes on to impress with its wonderful overall balance and gorgeous texture that persists through the long finish. While this may not be all all-time great vintage for Mouton, it is also nothing short of a total success in this vintage.
