The 2016 Côtes-du-Rhône Plan de Dieu opens to inviting aromas of black raspberries and dark cherries which come together with smoke, wet stones and peppery spices. This medium bodied red possesses a gorgeous velvety texture, underlined by lovely minerality. Flavors of red fruits and stony gravel continue to build up to the pretty finish. This is accessible now, but should also evolve nicely in the cellar.
