The 2012 Château Corconnac is an excellent showing in this vintage. It immediately opens with fresh aromas of ripe blackberries, currants, spice, minerals and pretty floral notes. This full-bodied red shows notable depth and everything is wrapped up in round velvety tannins that carry on through the long finish which leaves behind dark fruits and some spices. Diana Garcia-Gonzalez is doing some amazing things as Winemaker at Corconnac and with the addition of a self prescribed state-of-the-art winemaking facility now at her disposal these wines have been dramatically improving.
