The 2011 Château Grand Tayac 'Reserve' is a lovely Margaux, delivering aromas and flavors of dark currant and cherries layered with roasted coffee, tar and sweet tobacco notes. This possesses a medium to full body, with a silky texture, backed by fine tannins, which carry over onto the finish, where fresh cherries and roasted notes linger on. An age worthy Margaux that should evlove beautifully over the next few years. Eric Boissenot is the consultant winemaker at Tayac, he also consults for four of the five first growths of Bordeaux – Lafite Rothschild, Château Margaux, Latour, and Mouton Rothschild.
