The 2017 Château Ferrière is a lovely showing which is compose of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. It opens to aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark cherries along with tobacco, florals, licorice and fresh herbs nuances all adding further complexity. On the palate this medium-boded red is beautifully balanced with a firm structure leading up to the finsh. Overall, this is a gorgeous wine and should continue to drink beautifully as it continues to evolve over the course of the next decade and beyond. The estate, now under the stewardship of Claire Villars Lurton. was certified organic in 2015 and biodynamic in 2018.
