The 2012 is a lovely effort from Château de Portets, this blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon comes from vines 25-years-old which hug the river banks of the Garonne. As this opens in the glass it offers fantastic aromas of blackberry, cherries, graphite, eucalyptus, floral and minerals. The medium body nicely balanced with an elegant mouthfeel which carries on through the spice tinged finish. (Best 2016-2020) - July, 2015 (JD)
