The 2019 'Vieilles Vignes' Lalande de Pomerol comes from 60 Year Old vines and is composed of 90% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc, 5% Cab Sauvignon. It begins with inviting aromatics of blackberries and dark cherries, followed by spices, herbs, minerals and tobacco nuances, which burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, well-balanced and structured with fine tannins, leading into the finish, which is marked by flavors of dark cherries and spices. Overall, this is a lovey showing and a wonderful example of the quality of the vintage.
