CHÂTEAU CLIMENS Barsac 2005

The 2005 Château Climens is an absolutely stunning showing, which at this juncture is not showing any noticeable flaws, as it dazzles with its striking aromas and flavors. Unctuous, intense, and simply gorgeous, this perfumed wine has sublime aromatics of quince, crème brûlée, bananas foster, candied mango and baking spices. On the palate the wine possesses profound flavors of crème brûlée, roasted pineapple, ripe mango, and sweet marcona almond purée all adding to the magnificent flavor profile. Seductive, complete and utterly brilliant, the 2005 is clearly is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Climens, and it has the structure, weight and intensity to cellar for another 40 years. (Best 2017-2057) - February, 2017 (OB)
