The 2010 Léoville Las Cases is utterly captivating and exudes incredible class and sophistication. Composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc this offers wonderful aromas of ripe blackberries and cassis along with graphite, spices, spring florals, tobacco and hints of charcoal and minerals which all come together in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied with beautifully polished tannins that provide plenty of structure and backbone. Showing outstanding overall balance and concentration, this continues to impress all they way through the long, precise finish which just lingers on. This is an absolutely classic vintage of Las Cases which shows incredible aging potential and could ultimately offer a drinking window that exceeds three decades. Readers will certinaly need to exercise patience, and should plan allowing this significant time before it shows its best.
