The 2016 Domaine J.A. Ferret Pouilly-Fuisse is absolutely brilliant in this vintage. Composed from a blend of the best vineyard parcels, from vines ranging ten to thirty five-years-old in the Fuissé amphitheater, which consists of soils composed of limestone and clay. Each parcel was vinified separately, one half was aged in lined concrete tanks and the other in oak, no new oak was used, instead 2nd to 5th use barrels. The end result is nothing short of outstanding, as this immediately begins to entice with its fresh and lively aromatics of spring flowers, quince, pear, lime, honey, and crushed stones that all burst from the glass. On the palte this has a gorgeous silky texture, backed by flavors of orchard fruit and citrus uleading into the bright and mineral driven finish. To sum it up, this is a flat out delicious wine that is already drinking beautifully.
