Coming from the large vineyard of the estate, and planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this was my favorite Chateau de la Crée Chardonnay from the 2018 vintage. Aromas of ripe white peach, fresh honeydew melon, grilled red pear, roasted hazelnuts, lemon drop candy, and a subtle hint of nutmeg form the nose on the complex and intriguing wine. A touch of white mushroom and toasted brioche complete the palate with hints of apricot pit and lime pith forming towards the back of the tongue. The length of this wine is ridiculously long and is balanced with the ample fruit, elevated acidity, and wonderful structure. Highly recommended.
