The 2006 La Mission is a lovely effort in this vintage. Today, this is just begining enter the early stages of its drinking window, delivering striking aromas of ripe black cherries, wild blackberries layered with notes of sandalwood and suggestions of coffee grounds, which all come together in the glass. The gorgeous aromas carry over on to the palate, as gives way to a remarkably balanced, beautifully crafted, elegant wine that will evolve gracefully over the course of the next decade and beyond. An excellent effort from this estate under less than perfect growing conditions. (Best 2016-2030) - May, 2016 (OB)
